Janet McDonnell

I've been working in children's publishing for over 20 years, first as an editor, then writer and, for the past 15 years, as an illustrator. It's my favorite role yet. I love being surrounded by kids -- watching them, listening to them, and especially drawing them. I’m a proud member of the Picture Book Artists’ Association and the Co-coordinator for the SCBWI Illustrators in Illinois. I live in a suburb of Chicago with my two amateur comedian sons and my amazing husband (who’s also pretty darn funny).
