Catch You Later by Guest Designer Deborah Hellman

Hello crafty friends! My name is Deborah Hellman and I am thrilled to be a guest designer for The Greeting Farm this month. Today, I am sharing with you a brightly colored A2 card that I created using the Cheeky Mermaid Clear Stamp Set. You can request this set to be brought back during Farmer's Market. What’s not to love about mermaid cards? They are so fun to make and loved by all.

First, I stamped and die-cut the images on a piece of X-Press It cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink.  I like using this combination when using coloring with alcohol inks. It holds the color well and the images won’t bleed. After coloring, I also like to add a few white gel pen highlights.

Copic Ink Colors Used:
E: 000, 00, 01, 11, 13
R: 30, 37
BG: 10, 11, 23, 34
RV: 00, 000, 10, 52, 55, 63, 66

Next, I watercolored a piece of A2 watercolor paper for my background. While it was drying, I ripped a couple of pieces of scrap Kraft paper to be my sea bottom and die-cut some rocks and sea plants to help build my scene. I purposely picked some of my shiny cardstock scraps for these die-cuts to add more interest.

Then, it was fun time. I was ready to assemble my card. After I attached the watercolor paper to my base and the ripped Kraft paper along the bottom, I stamped my sentiment and glued my rocks and sea life in place. I used some foam adhesive under my mermaid to help her stand out as the focal and then glued the rest of the images in place.

Thanks so much for visiting the blog today and thank you to The Greeting Farm for inviting me to guest! If you are inspired to make a mermaid or water related card, I would love to see what you create.
