Guest Designer Katya Bess with a Valentine's Day Slimline Card!
Hello Everyone and Happy New Year! It's Katya from The Prismatic Kat. I am so excited and honored to be a Guest Designer for The Greeting Farm today. I had so much fun mixing and matching these adorable Anya and Ian sets. The days are going by quickly and next thing you know it's almost Valentine's Day.
The Anya, hearts and sentiment are from Love Couple, and Ian and teddy bear are from Gift Ian FB. To give the illusion of an outdoor space I used slimline dies, and created a simple background using Distress Oxides and grass border dies. Ian is holding a surprise gift as he walks towards sweet Anya in her fabulous Valentine's Day outfit.
It's easy to give an illusion of colored irises with colored pencils on top of the stamped eyes.
Instead of masking the stamps I decided to carefully fussy cut along Ian's hoodie arms to slide and glue the teddy bear to give the appearance of Ian holding it. Before gluing in the teddy bear I used a Memento Black pen to hide the white area of the paper.
To color these cuties I used Polychromos colored pencils on Kraft cardstock.
Eyes: Dark Naples Ochre, Burnt Siena, Black, (White Gelly Roll pen)
Hair: White, Burnt Umber, Black, Burnt Siena
Dress: White, Permanent Carmine, Dark Red, Walnut Brown
Boots: White, Black
Ian: Skin: Ivory, Burnt Siena, Walnut Brown
Hair: White, Burnt Umber, Black
Hoodie: White, Permanent Carmine, Dark Red, Walnut Brown
Jeans: Ivory, Indanthrene Blue, Sky Blue
Shoes: White, Black
Bear: Walnut Brown, Dark Naples Ochre, Burnt Siena
