Have A Fairy Happy Birthday from Guest Designer Samantha Pfrimmer
Hello everyone! Samantha here today and I am so very excited to be the Guest Designer for the Month of March. The Greeting Farm is one of my favorite stamp companies and I love creating scenes for adorable Anya. I have a young daughter and I can never keep enough birthday cards ready in my stash, so today I am sharing a card featuring Fairy BDay Anya. This set isn't currently in the store, but it can be requested for a future Farmers Market by using the Contact Page.
I love a slimline and I thought it would be fun to create a full scene for my fairy. To start my card, I went to my collection of digi background sets and selected elements from the Fairyland-digi set. I chose several of the mushroom images and layered them in my design software for printing. I printed one version on copy paper to use as a mask and a second onto Copic Xpress It paper for coloring.
To finish out my scene I decided to add tall grass to the background using a stamp from my stash. I cut my mask, sprayed it with Pixie Spray so it would adhere to my images and then stamped my grass. I also stamped and cut a mask for the top of my grass so I could ink blend a sky using Distress Oxide Inks: Squeezed Lemonade and Tumbled Glass. I added some splatter with white acrylic paint to finish off the scene.
Now it was time to color. I removed all of my masks and removed the excess Pixie Spray glue with an adhesive eraser and got to work. I first Copic-colored my background before stamping my Fairy BDay Anya image onto a separate piece of Xpress-It paper. After Anya was colored in purples, oranges, and golds to match the mushrooms, I fussy cut her out closely along the outside line and adhered her to the scene to create the look of a one-layer card. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment, attached a dark orange mat and folding card-base, and my card was complete. It is now in my stash awaiting the next birthday party invitation.
I hope you like it and thank you for reading!
