Hello Mermaid by Guest Designer Samantha Pfrimmer
Hi everyone, Samantha Pfrimmer from @sammakescards here, and I am so excited to be the May guest designer for The Greeting Farm! It also happens to be Mermay, so today I am sharing a fun card I made using one of the sweet mermaid stamps from the Mermaids Galore Big Kit along with elements from the Mermaid Anya 2 stamp set to help create my scene. (Both stamp sets are not currently available in the shop, but they can always be requested for a future Farmer’s Market using the Contact page on the store site).

To start my card, I stamped my selected mermaid and two of the fish from the Mermaids Galore stamp set onto masking paper. Next, I stamped the starfish and seaweed from the Mermaid Anya 2 set onto masking paper before fussing cutting all of the images with scissors. Having the masks done first helps me to lay out my design.

Once I finalized my layout, I stamped my images onto Copic friendly paper and adhered all of my masks. I then took a stencil I made using an underwater tunnel die from my stash and cardstock scraps and laid it out over my scene. I colored in the ocean floor with Copic markers before using Distressed Oxide Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for the water. Background now complete, I removed my masks, colored my images, and stamped a sentiment from the Mermaid Anya 2 set.

My cute card was now complete and I am ready for Mermay!
