Hello summer!
Hello fellow Farmers!
Amy here, and the big Coffee Bean stamp kit arrived at my place recently so you know I had to ink up one of those cuties right away. There are so many sweet little Beans included but it was this adorable tot with her backwards cap and grande frappuccino, that had just the summer vibe I was looking for.
Once I had my Coffee Bean stamped on Copic X-Press It card stock, I also stamped and cut out a mask for her so I could build a background scene using some of the great digital stamps also available in the store, then print it out right over top of the mask. When the ,ask is removed, this sweet little Bean looks right at home, standing out in front of all the scene builder elements. The only problem was, that I didn't want to do the same kind of beach scene that I've already done a few times. That's when it hit me... how fun would it be to use the SUV Trunk digi set and load it up with a bunch of beach day paraphernalia so it looks like her day of fun in the sun is just about to begin? First I hit up the Beach digi set and grabbed the cooler, beach bag, beach ball and inflatable ring. Next I grabbed the bottle of sunscreen from the Poolside digi set and the fish toy from the Carnival digi set. Finally, this little Bean needed a four-legged friend to join her for this special day and I found the perfect companion in the Hello From Home digi set.
All I had left to do was sit down and start coloring in order to bring the whole vision to life. Sometimes, when you have a lot going on in a scene, like there is in this one, it can feel a bit intimidating to know where to start. That's why I tend to tackle the big areas first when I feel that way. By starting with the asphalt of the parking lot along with the beach and ocean beyond, the scene starts to feel much more manageable very quickly. Next I colored the large car followed by everything in it, until finally all that was left to color was Bean and her pup. Before I knew it I was looking at a completed card that really makes me smile... and wish that I had one of those frappuccinos too, LOL!
Stay crafty my friends!
