November 2022 Guest Designer: BRI FIRTH!

Hi friends – Bri Firth here! I am so thrilled to be the Guest Designer for November 2022. My first project features the Donut Worry set. Keep reading below for more details on how I created this adorably sweet card.

I decided to make a large donut to coordinate with Anya’s sweet outfit. I used a variety of circle dies to cut the cake and icing layers of the donut. I used the mini sprinkles image to randomly place sprinkles all over the donut’s icing.

To create the pastel ombre background I used Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac, and Broken China Distress Oxide inks. Once the background dried, I matted it with white and brown cardstock layers. With all the layers this square card measures to be 5.5” x 5.5”. To finish the card background, I added glitter white enamel dots for embellishment.

The sprinkles, Anya, the cat, and the donuts were all colored with Copic markers. The colors I used are listed at the end of this post. I used a variety of gel pens to add sprinkles to the small donuts on Anya’s headband and onto the donut the cat is holding.

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto a small rectangle die cut. I used Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink to add a coordinating color to the sentiment strip. The sentiment strip and the colored images are attached to the card front with foam tape for some added dimension.

Copic markers:
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000, E0000
Hair: E55, E53, E51, E50, Y000
Pink: RV14, RV13, RV11, RV10

Hope my creation inspires you today!
