Tip Me Tuesday: Gather Your Flock
Happy Tip Me Tuesday, friends, and a very happy June to you! I hope your week is off to a great start as we tumble into the fun days of summer. Today's TMT may sound like I'm rounding up a bunch of friends for a fun hangout, but what I really mean is: dust off your old container of flock!
Now I have to admit that I completely forgot about this fun textured powder, until I moved my craft space to another part of the house. I came across a white box full of stickles, glitter, and one single container of flock that I managed to hold on to after all these years. What a fun discovery! I decided to stamp up the cute bear from You Are My Sunshine and flock his fur:
I started by coloring him up with a Copic to get an even tone:
Next, I colored up his flower crown then started to add glue to his body, Sprinkling the flock was probably the best part of this process:
I remembered how tricky this gets, so I made sure to use a paper piercing tool so I could get into the narrow areas. I did a layer and let it dry completely, then went back to do touch ups on his body.
When it was completely dry, I added a sentiment from Bee Happy, and layered him on to patterned papers from American Crafts 6x6 paper pad called Go Now Go:
He's such a furry little guy now! I'm out of practice, so there were definitely parts that dried thicker than others. I was so tempted to redo him, but my daughter insisted that nature is perfectly imperfect. Let me know if you still have containers of unused flock in your craft space, or if you're so incredibly cool that you haven't stopped using it. I think I just might purchase a few more jars of flock for all these cute animal images from the Farm!
Have an amazing day, friends, happy crafting to you.
