Tip Me Tuesday: Washi Background
Hi friends and Happy Tip Me Tuesday! It's Joni here with this month's TMT - a little feature where I ooh and ahh over talented accounts from all over the internet for color combos, techniques, and fun ideas to try. Today's tip comes from a Facebook reel that made its way into my algorithm, and I couldn't wait to share it!
This is an easy project if you have Washi tapes that are:
a) running low
b) collecting dust
c) asking to be used
Gather five rolls similar in color, theme, design, or patterns. I chose an outdoorsy one in complimentary tones:
Cut out a piece of card stock for your card front, and place the Washi tape strips in random, diagonal lines, mixing them up as you desire:

Once you have them set in place, you can either trim the edges by hand, or simply fold them on to the back side like I did here:
And just like that, you've created your own patterned base for you card!
To keep with the theme, I used the doe, butterflies, and sentiment from You Are My Sunshine:

You can find my inspiration here on Instagram, Gayathri's card is so adorable! I hope you find some fun scraps of tape to play around with. It's a fun and forgiving technique with a whimsical impact. Have a great day, thank you so much for stopping by!
