Water You Up To Card featuring Guest Designer Deborah Hellman
Hello crafty friends! My name is Deborah Hellman, and today I am excited to share with you a “sister” card to the one I shared earlier this month. I created this fun A2 card using the same Cheeky Mermaid Clear Stamp Set. If you would like to own this set, you can request it to be brought back during Farmer's Market. For this sweet mermaid, I decided to change it up a bit. Instead of bright pink hair, I decided to go with a blue/blue-green color combination.
First, I stamped and die-cut the images on a piece of X-Press It cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink. I like using this combination when using coloring with alcohol inks. It holds the color well and the images won’t bleed. After coloring, I also like to add a few white gel pen highlights.
Copic Ink Colors Used:
E: 000, 00, 01, 11, 13
B: 01, 02, 04, 06
BG: 10, 11, 23, 34
R: 30, 37
Next, I watercolored a piece of A2 watercolor paper for my background. While it was drying, I ripped a couple of pieces of scrap Kraft paper to be my sea bottom and die-cut some rocks, sea plants, and an anchor to help build my scene. I purposely picked some of my shiny cardstock scraps for these die-cuts to add more interest. I always keep a bag of cardstock scraps that are too pretty to throw away. They come in handy when I am die-cutting small objects for my cards.
Then, I was ready to assemble my card. After I attached the watercolor paper to my base and the ripped Kraft paper along the bottom, I stamped my sentiment and glued my rocks, sea life, and anchor in place. I used some foam adhesive under my mermaid to help her stand out as the focal and then glued the rest of the images in place.
Thank you so much for visiting the blog today and thank you to The Greeting Farm for inviting me to guest. This is my final post as guest designer. I would love to see what you create. Feel free to tag/follow me on my Instagram and/or Facebook Account. I am always looking for more crafty friends. Also, please don’t forget to leave a comment below.
