Fairy Special Day with Davina

Hello crafty friends. Today I’m sharing a cheerfully colored birthday card i made using the recent FairyBDay Anya stamp set. I have some brightly colored patterned papers that are full of butterflies and flowers and it was the perfect inspiration for my card.

After stamping my images, including the extra flower crown image, i colored everything to match the paper i was using. I used my scan n cut to carefully cut out my images before trimming the original floral crown from atop her head, then adhering the alternative flowers on top. I used iridescent holographic acrylic paint to apply a thin layer of glitter paint onto the pretty wings and flower centers for an extra sparkly effect.

I die cut and assembled a ginormous mushroom house, after gently inking the pieces, and built my scene using my pretty patterned paper. After placing my fairy with foam tape I realized that once again i left no room for a sentiment. So I stamped a skinny line of text onto a strip banner and squeezed it into the corner. I used the punny sentiment from the set on the interior of the card.

For the past 4 months or so I’ve been making my cards a little bigger than the average A2 size. That little bit of extra space that over been using as a bonus layer allows me to use the standard cover dies and layer dies and still have some color pop around. And honestly I’ll never stop doing it. I use A6 envelopes and cut my card bases from 12x12 cardstock. So, if you’ve been wondering, yes, my cards are larger, they are 4.5x5.75, and I love it!

Thank you for stopping by, Davina
