Stay Cool with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with a fun summer card that has lots of “boho vibes” and summer sunshine. I used the super cute stamp set from the recent May release called Hot and Sunny, and the great cat-eye sunglasses from last months Miss Anya Style. 

I stamped and colored the images using copic markers and some white highlights. I’ve been using patterned papers from the same paper pack all month so it was a snap to choose colors that have been fitting the theme, and marker combos that have been on my desk for weeks. I used my scan n cut to cut the images out before adding some glittery Wink of Stella touches. 

I decided to make a southwestern themed card and cut out some desert landscapes that I inked and layered over a slightly distressed cover plate background. I backed the cover plate with vellum so that the bold patterned paper underneath could be visible yet muted. I stamped a custom sentiment onto a banner that I adhered to the top corner, then finished off the card with some sparkly bling 

I have lived my whole life in Arizona and Nevada, so this desert inspired card really speaks to me, especially after having just returned from a road trip and seeing the landscape so green and vibrant before the summer temps scorch it all brown.
