Sunny Skies Ahead
Hello fellow Farmers!
Amy here, and now that April is upon us it was time to continue on with my personal challenge to create a card each month using the Miss Anya All Year stamp kit. The April Miss Anya was a no-brainer, all decked out with her 'brellie and wellies, it was hard not to have the old adage, "April showers bring May flowers" running through my head.
Once again, I've gone to the awesome digital background builder sets available at TGF to find the perfect images for creating April's stormy world. I love the big tree from the Picnic set and then I found a bunch of flowers in the Gardening set to plant along the path. I printed all of these in grey scale so they would fade more into the background once the rain fall was colored over top. The little dog from the Dress Up Summer set printed in black ink since I wanted him to be front and center right along with Miss Anya.
As I colored in the background with Copic markers I used soft, de-saturated colors and didn't worry about adding in a lot of layers and extra details. By keeping everything rather soft and diffused I knew the rain effects would wash it all out and make the passing storm look that much more convincing. In comparison, Miss Anya and her pup were colored in brighter, bolder colors to help make them really stand out as the stars of the show. A white pen was the finishing touch in the rainfall because when you have it 'break' some of those black stamped lines it really pushes your characters right into all those rain drops. Even with all that rain, it doesn't look like these happy pals mind at all. :)
Stay crafty my friends!
