Warm Hugs with Davina
Hello crafty friends. With the holidays upon us I couldn’t resist making and sharing a fun and bright christmas card. This tall house I paper pieced together is decorated with the beautiful Holiday Anya 9, and her chubby friend from the Warm Wishes stamp sets.
I built this house by adding some paper layered windows and garland all topped off with a pink scalloped embossed roof. There’s even the cutest door with a full wreath, but I accidentally covered it way more than i intended to, so only the recipient will ever see that cute detail.
I stamped my images and colored them up with copic markers, in colors that matched the patterned paper, before adding some glittery wink of Stella details. I really loved how great that bright green looked with my red a pink too. After finishing the house facade, I added a pop out tab to the bottom. The folded tab was only a little over 1/2 inch high, so I didn’t think it would cover the door so much. But, I adhered my images to a taller hillside before adding it to the pop out portion, and covered more than half of the door. Lesson learned, and it still looks very very cute, so I didn’t tear it apart and risk ruing it all.
After adding the die cut sentiment to the roof, I mounted this card onto standard height card base that was cut and folded “tent” style. I found that this style of card base works bast when i add the little pop out bottoms and they display very pretty. It all fits very nicely into a 5 x 7 envelope.
I hope you enjoy this Christmas themed card and thank you fir stopping by, Davina
